The store and bonds

What a bond is, what buying one does, how it reaches your character, and what it does not do.

What a bond is

A bond is an item. It comes in a few sizes, each worth a set number of dollars toward your account’s donated total. Bonds are tradeable: you can buy one in the store with real money, or buy one from another player with gold at the Trading Post. Either way, it is the same item and does the same thing when used.

What using a bond does

Click the bond in your inventory and claim it. Its value is added to your character’s donated total, which decides your donator rank, and to your donator points, which are spent in the donator shop. The message in game tells you the new total. A Premium member’s donated total gets 50% more from each bond claimed; the points stay at the bond’s face value.

Nothing in the game is sold for real money except bonds. There are no loot boxes for sale and no random items with hidden odds.

Buying one in the store

The store is not open yet: the Store page says what it will be. When it is, each bond’s page says what it is, what using it does, that it can be traded, and that it is collected in game with ::claim on a character of your account. Prices are in US dollars; payment is taken by Stripe or PayPal on their own pages, and we never see your card. At checkout you confirm two things: that you are 18 or have a parent’s permission, and that you want the bond delivered at once, which means you cannot cancel for a refund afterwards. The refund policy says when a refund is given anyway.

Collecting it

After paying, sign in to the game on the character you chose and type ::claim. The bond lands in your inventory. If it has not arrived within a day, the Support page is the place to ask, with the order number from your receipt.

What it does not do

A bond buys items and rank. It does not buy a say in how the game is run, protection from the rules, or anything staff would not give any other player. Anyone offering bonds for sale outside the store and the Trading Post is not us.
